I can't help it, I can't shake it. I'm a born skeptic. I need proof for everything. I'm an empiricist, show me the evidence. I'm a critical thinker, I adhere to scientific method and objective analysis of data. But I can't shake it. I just can't shake this horrible sickness in the pit of my stomach that there's a giant con being set up here. Call it spidey sense, call it intuition and I hope to hell it's just my imagination, but I can't be the only one seeing the massive propaganda push about this race being close. Propoganda like I've never seen. The Gallup polls with ridiculous Romney spreads, the meme being pushed about Romney momentum all of a sudden...From where? How? WTF?
I don't know what to think, but it feels like a set up, like a narrative being set to explain away unbelievable election results. All they would need is the flimsiest of excuses and enough people will buy it.
Yes, there's other explanations, the media want the race to be seen as close for ratings etc. etc. But it's also very convenient cover for the election to be stolen by any number of means. I'm sorry, but it doesn't seem all that difficult to do and I've yet to see any reasonable explanation why I shouldn't be concerned. Yes, GOTV like never before, but if the means exists to manipulate vote counts, the Repubs will not hesitate to use those means and they will have a nice cover story in place so enough people will be fooled into believing it's legit.
I just can't shake the nauseous feeling in the pit of my stomach that there's a set up being put in place. It's making me queasy. I guess I have to place my faith in our GOTV operations and that Obama is aware of any plans to steal this thing and has counter measures in place. If I were Obama, I sure as hell would.
